Frequently Asked Questions
Q01Why is my garbage disposal humming but not working?
A humming disposal is usually jammed, something is stuck between the grinding plate and the housing, or the motor is struggling. Turn it off at the switch and never reach inside. Our technician can clear the jam safely.
Q02My disposal won’t turn on at all. What’s wrong?
It may have tripped its built-in reset button, or there could be a wiring, switch or motor problem. If pressing the reset button on the bottom of the unit doesn’t help, we’ll diagnose it.
Q03Why is my garbage disposal leaking?
Leaks can come from a worn sink flange seal, loose drain connections or a cracked housing. Some leaks are an easy fix; a cracked unit usually needs replacing.
Q04Should I repair or replace my garbage disposal?
If the motor has failed or the housing is cracked, replacement is often the better value. Our technician will give you an honest recommendation and a flat-rate price either way.
Q05Are garbage disposal repairs backed by a warranty?
Yes. All repairs are backed by our 90-day parts and labor warranty.
